All Connect Magazine, a communication media outlet operated by ALL CONNECT Co., Ltd., conducted a survey on the contract status and satisfaction levels of 500 pocket WiFi users.

The survey revealed that the most important factor when choosing a pocket WiFi service was 'low monthly fees' at 41.2%, significantly outpacing the second-place factor, 'fast communication speed' (18.6%). This highlights a strong trend toward cost-consciousness among users.

Regarding reasonable monthly fees, the '3,000 yen range' was the top answer at 41.0%. When combined with the '2,000 yen range' (32.2%) and 'under 2,000 yen' (11.8%), approximately 85% of respondents answered that 'under 4,000 yen is reasonable.' It has become clear that the upper limit for user price acceptance is in the 3,000 yen range.

Survey Summary Highlights: - Device Types: WiMAX leads with 41.4%, followed by Rakuten Mobile (24.0%) and major carriers (23.2%). - Data Plans: 'Unlimited' plans are the most popular at 40.4%, while about 60% use plans with data caps. - Satisfaction: 94.0% of users are satisfied with their current data capacity. - Common Complaints: 'Slower speed than expected' (21.1%) and 'no signal in some locations' (17.3%) were the top grievances. - Usage Scenarios: 'On the go (cafes/commuting)' accounted for over half at 50.2%. - Traffic Trends: 53.6% reported an increase in data usage compared to a year ago. - Interest in Unlimited: 79.8% are either already using or interested in unlimited plans.

In terms of network types, WiMAX, Rakuten Mobile, and major carriers account for a combined 88.6% of the market, solidifying their position as the industry leaders. In contrast, Cloud SIM-based services remain at only 5.4%.

As data traffic continues to rise, the market shows a clear shift toward unlimited data plans to meet growing consumer demand for seamless connectivity.
