Announcement of Retirement for Shohei Kikuchi (#13)

Alvark Tokyo announces that player #13, Shohei Kikuchi, has expressed his intention to retire at the end of the 2025-26 season. Kikuchi began his career in 2007 with the Toshiba Brave Thunders (now Kawasaki Brave Thunders). In 2013, he transferred to Toyota Alvark Tokyo and played a crucial role in the historic achievement of consecutive B.League championships in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. His tenacious physicality, backed by rigorous training, combined with his game-reading ability and tough defense, made him a team player who always fulfilled his role selflessly, embodying the spirit of Alvark Tokyo for many years. Upon his return to Alvark Tokyo in 2024, he continued to inject a winning mentality into the team as a championship-winning member and served as a mentor, greatly influencing younger players. Even amidst this, his dedication to pushing himself harder than anyone else and fighting daily has given the team immeasurable strength. The season is not yet over.
