Over the course of three days during Golden Week, WHATAWON in Kishiwada, Osaka, hosted its 2nd anniversary festival, 'Good Times Good People.'
Featuring a star-studded lineup including bird, FNCY, In-sist BAND, Rickie-G, DJ HASEBE, and DJ TAKU, the event was a 'stay-type festival' utilizing the entire facility with live performances, DJ sets, exclusive collaboration food menus, and free talk sessions.
Attendees swayed to the music, relaxed on the lawn, or enjoyed conversations with exclusive food in hand, soaking in the free and pleasant atmosphere unique to WHATAWON.
More than just watching live performances: The unique festival space of WHATAWON What stood out at 'Good Times Good People' was the variety of ways to enjoy the festival beyond just watching the performances. In the Gourmand area, DJ sessions allowed guests to immerse themselves in music while enjoying food and conversation. The venue attracted a wide range of visitors, including families, friends, couples, and those with pets, all enjoying the 2nd-anniversary festival in their own styles.
An incredible lineup crossing genres On Day 1, bird performed with a warm, soulful voice that enveloped the 'Floor Disco Ball.' Day 2 featured FNCY, DJ HASEBE, and ZEN-LA-ROCK. Their hip-hop-driven sound filled the food court and beyond, creating the free-spirited festival vibe WHATAWON is known for. Day 3 featured Rickie-G, In-sist BAND, and DJ TAKU (EMPEROR). Performances, DJ sets, and dancing blended seamlessly, bringing different waves of excitement and unity throughout the day.
Focus on 'tasting music' with limited collaboration food menus During the event, exclusive collaboration menus were sold by WHATAWON restaurants and performing artists: bird × DEAI THE BAKERY 'DEAI Salt Bread,' In-sist BAND × BURGER HILL JOY 'Jalapeno Cheeseburger,' and Rickie-G × Yoshida Chicken 'Chicken Tacos.'
Successful free talk event: 'Good People SPECIAL TALK' Simultaneously, 'Good People SPECIAL TALK,' a free event themed around life, work, and challenges, was held. Attendees stopped by to listen intently to the unscripted, real-life talks given by the guest speakers, followed by a participatory rock-paper-scissors tournament.
