Aoki Super Co., Ltd. and Gynamics Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Toshiba Tec Corporation, announced that they will begin a pilot program in July 2026 to optimize app coupon distribution at all Aoki Super stores using Gynamics' 'Promotion Optimization AI Module.' This pilot coincides with the launch of the coupon feature in Aoki Super's proprietary app in June 2026. The AI will analyze the purchasing trends and interests of each app member to deliver personalized product coupons, while measuring changes in coupon utilization rates to verify the system's effectiveness. In recent years, with the rise of smartphones and changing lifestyles, shifting from traditional newspaper flyer-based promotions to efficient and effective digital promotions has become a critical management priority. While Aoki Super has been promoting a shift toward app-based coupon strategies to strengthen engagement with a wide range of customers, including the younger generation, uniform distribution has made it difficult to meet individual needs, posing challenges for app retention and value enhancement. In this pilot, the 'AI Module' will be used to analyze member attributes and purchase data, predict interests, and measure coupon utilization. By efficiently predicting and verifying optimal coupons, the companies aim to realize a 'coupons I want to use' experience while simultaneously streamlining and advancing promotional operations. The pilot is scheduled to run from July 2026 to January 2027.
