Toyochem and Daito Sign 'Agreement for Building a Partnership' Regarding Pharmaceuticals

Toyochem Co., Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Yasushi Ariyoshi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a member of the artience group, and Daito Co., Ltd. (President, Representative Director and CEO: Hiroshi Matsumori, Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture) announce that they have signed an 'Agreement for Building a Partnership' on April 7.

Overview Through the 'Agreement for Building a Partnership' signed by Toyochem and Daito, the two companies have agreed to begin discussions and activities aimed at establishing a business and operational alliance centered on the field of formulation development related to transdermal absorption. This will involve utilizing and mutually sharing each other's expertise, targeting the development of formulations related to transdermal absorption.

About the Details of the Agreement This agreement is based on the premise of leveraging mutual strengths: Toyochem's formulation development capabilities and formulation production system for transdermal absorption formulations, and Daito's expertise in domestic and international clinical trials, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, as well as its high-quality and stable active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing system. The two companies have agreed to actively begin discussions toward a business that collaboratively develops, manufactures, and sells high-value-added formulations, with an eye on the global domain as well.

About Toyochem's Transdermal Formulation Business Toyochem plays a core role in the polymer and coating-related businesses of the artience group and is engaged in the development of transdermal absorption formulations, adhesives, and biocompatible polymers, with the medical and healthcare domain as a focus area. In the pharmaceutical field, the company contributes to improving patients' QOL through the development and manufacturing of transdermal drug delivery systems (TDDS). Transdermal formulations, which continuously administer active ingredients through the skin when applied to the body, offer advantages not found in other dosage forms, such as convenience of medication, stable drug administration, and visualization of medication status. By comprehensively integrating formulation design, polymer development, and coating processing technology, our company aims to realize 'safe and skin-friendly transdermal formulations' demanded by the medical frontlines and patients. Toward this realization, we have transferred our manufacturing and R&D bases to the Moriyama Factory in Shiga Prefecture to strengthen our system as a CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) company.
