SDGs Iwasasho Opens Applications for the 8th Round

The Asahi Shimbun Company (CEO: Katsushi Tsunoda) is serving as the media partner for the "SDGs Japan Scholarship Iwasa Award (SDGs Iwasa Award)," and applications for the 8th round are now open.

The SDGs Iwasa Award was established in 2022 by the Iwasa Educational and Cultural Foundation with the desire to support those who are diligently working in various fields towards the achievement of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).

The award is for organizations and individuals (18 years or older) engaged in activities that contribute to the realization of a sustainable society. Applications will be accepted in all 7 departments: 〈Healthcare〉〈Education〉〈Welfare〉〈Environment〉〈Peace and Human Rights〉〈Arts and Sports〉〈Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, and Food〉. Please fill out the application form on the special website and attach detailed materials that explain your activities. Activities that contribute to solving and improving social issues in Japan are eligible.

【Purpose】 The purpose is to provide grants to organizations and individuals who require funding to continue their activities that align with the spirit of the SDGs adopted by the United Nations and contribute to solving and improving social issues in Japan, and to encourage their existence and activities, expand networks, and promote the realization of a sustainable society.

【Applicant Eligibility】 NPOs, corporations, educational institutions, voluntary organizations, and individuals in Japan who are working on activities that contribute to achieving the goals set forth in the SDGs and to solving and improving social issues in Japan in order to realize a "sustainable society." However, the following conditions must be met. A. The applicant must be a corporation registered in Japan, or an individual who has been a resident in Japan for 3 years or more (18 years or older at the time of application). *If the applicant is under 18 years old, please have an adult 18 years or older apply, clearly stating their relationship to the applicant (and inform the applicant that they are applying). B. The activity must have been conducted within the last year, the base of operations must be in Japan, and the activity must contribute to solving and improving social issues in Japan.

【Prize Money】　¥1 million to ¥30 million per department (planned) Awardees will be decided by the Foundation's Board of Directors after selection by experts and specialists (there may be no eligible recipients). The number of awards and prize money to date are as follows:
