The Asian Clean Fuels Association (ACFA)*, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving air quality and promoting decarbonization through clean and efficient fuel supply, will host a seminar on April 21st (Tuesday) in Akasaka, Tokyo. The seminar will focus on international trends in biofuels and the direction of fuel policies.
As the transition to decarbonization progresses, Japan is currently considering a shift to high-concentration biofuels (E10/E20), necessitating a comprehensive review of how future fuel policies should be advanced.
This seminar, the first organized by ACFA in Japan, will address the impact of using oxygenates (ethers, ethanol, etc.) and differences in fuel characteristics (volatility, octane, composition, etc.) on exhaust emissions, public health, the environment, gasoline prices, and engine performance. Experts involved in policy formation and technological development from overseas will be invited. Based on data such as the "MOVES (Motor Vehicle Emission Simulator)" developed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), life cycle analysis (LCA) of gasoline, and actual fuel data, data-driven discussions will be held to explain the latest international insights into land and marine biofuel policies.
Furthermore, a networking reception will be held after the seminar to facilitate information exchange among participants. This will be a valuable opportunity to gain a broad perspective on the future of fuel policy, so please join us.
