Sapporo Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill will host its annual Golden Week Event from Wednesday, April 29th to Sunday, May 10th, 2026. This year marks the special 50th anniversary of the iconic Dr. Clark statue, and the program is packed with activities for all ages. Highlights include the 'Sheep Shearing' demonstration—a spring tradition in Hitsujigaoka—where sheep transition into their summer coats. This year, five new sheep joined the flock, bringing the total to 14 participants in the 'Sheep Walking Race,' where visitors can predict the winner to earn prizes.

Special perks include free admission for elementary school students from May 3rd to May 6th. Popular local mascot 'Jingisukan no Jin-kun' will also visit on May 1st to serve as the official 50th-anniversary ambassador. Various workshops will be held, including soap making, clay craft memory stands, tile crafts, and candle making. Food trucks and a stamp rally will also be available on-site to ensure a full day of entertainment.
