WALL_alternative, a nocturnal alternative space operated by Avex Creator Agency, is currently hosting the exhibition 'Awesome Fingers: Picture Planes from the Fingermade Era,' curated by artist Rintaro Fuse, running until Tuesday, June 23.
The exhibition features the curator Rintaro Fuse alongside four participating artists: Kenta Cobayashi, Kantaro Tanaka, Rei Nakanishi, and Shu Yonezawa, all presenting new or newly evolved works.
Key installations include Shu Yonezawa's first-ever large-scale installation 'Wounded Fingers,' Rei Nakanishi's reconfigured large painting 'Landscape No.17,' Kantaro Tanaka's new sculpture using pressed flowers 'One Time Displaced By Another,' and Kenta Cobayashi's new series 'iPhone Photographs & Drawings.' Additionally, Rintaro Fuse presents new works from his ongoing 'Retina Painting' series.
The exhibition also screens music videos that symbolize post-2010s bodily sensations and post-internet visual culture, including Oneohtrix Point Never's 'Still Life (Betamale)' (2014), Seiko Oomori's 'Aishiteru.com' (2016), and You'll Melt More!'s 'Hamidasumo! (Heaven&Hell Remix)' (2015).
Talk events are scheduled: on June 16, a public recording talk featuring Rintaro Fuse, Kenta Cobayashi, and Rei Nakanishi, and on June 23, a closing talk session featuring Kantaro Tanaka and Shu Yonezawa.
