NPO AYA (Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture) announced that on May 17, 2026, its 'Inclusive Movie Screenings'—designed for children with medical needs, disabilities, and intractable diseases—were held across 12 venues nationwide. With 2,222 people mobilized that day, the total number of participants in AYA-hosted events surpassed 30,000 (including volunteers). Both the number of events and the number of people mobilized in a single day reached record highs.

AYA was established in June 2023 with the mission to 'provide opportunities for children with medical needs and disabilities and their families to broaden their horizons through sports, arts, and culture.' Their flagship activity is the 'Inclusive Movie Screening,' where doctors and nurses accompany all events, allowing for the use of medical equipment such as IVs, nutritional supplements, and ventilators.

Currently, they are aiming for the establishment of 'Inclusive Movie Day' in May 2027, with the goal of holding simultaneous screenings in all 47 prefectures. Yuki Nakagawa, Representative Director, stated, 'Behind the number of 30,000 are the irreplaceable moments of families. We will expand our activities with a vision of synchronized events in 47 prefectures and a cumulative total of 50,000 participants.'
