Tamura Shoten Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hitoyoshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture) will release a limited edition sake, "Kizaru Otoko Yoninshu Ōkubizoroi" (The Four Yellow Monkey Men Large Head Portraits), as a new addition to its "Char" sake brand line-up, starting Thursday, March 26, 2026.
THE YELLOW MONKEY's 35th Anniversary Ukiyo-e x Sake Collaboration
To commemorate THE YELLOW MONKEY's 35th anniversary, a special collaboration has been realized through the fusion of three cultures: "Rock x Ukiyo-e x Sake." The partner brand is the award-winning "Char." The stance of the brand, which embodies the tradition and innovation pursued by the "Endo Sake Brewery," deeply resonated with the worldview of rock and ukiyo-e.
This special bottle, adorned with a label featuring the ukiyo-e "Kizaru Otoko Yoninshu Ōkubizoroi" depicting the members, is a Junmai Ginjo specially designed for this project, using Miyama Nishiki rice from Nagano Prefecture. With a rice polishing ratio of 59%, it achieves a balance of umami and sharpness. It delivers a gentle ginjo aroma, a soft texture on the palate, and a clean, lingering finish.
Its unprecedentedly glamorous taste resonates with THE YELLOW MONKEY's music and their multi-layered history, with the spirit of ever-evolving rock captured in every drop.
This special bottle is a completely limited-quantity production. Pre-orders begin today, with shipping scheduled to start sequentially from early June.
