Simeji, the customizable emoji keyboard app provided by Baidu Japan, has announced the results of its "Simeji Ranking" based on user surveys. The theme for this ranking is "Celebrities Gen Z wants as an older brother by situation," coinciding with "Brother's Day" on June 6.

The survey was conducted from May 22 to May 25, 2026, with 3,297 valid responses from men and women aged 16 to 29. The survey covered categories such as "Celebrities you'd want as an older brother who would spoil their younger siblings."

The ranking showed a trend where Gen Z values personality traits such as being kind, caring, and easy to consult with, rather than just good looks. Additionally, a natural demeanor shown on social media and a protective role within groups have garnered support.

[Top 5 Results for "Celebrities Gen Z wants as an older brother who would spoil their younger siblings"] 1st place: Hayato Sano (M!LK) - Supported for his bright and approachable character. Famous for anecdotes about doting on his future younger siblings. 2nd place: Ren Meguro (Snow Man) - Popular for his serious, sincere personality and gentle behavior in dramas. 3rd place: Takeru Satoh - Supported for the gap between his cool image and kind side. 4th place: Shota Watanabe (Snow Man) - Loved by fans for his "sister-complex" anecdotes, spoiling his real younger sister. 5th place: Ryosuke Yamada (Hey! Overall, the survey results indicate that Gen Z values not only the classic "kind and reliable" older brother archetype but also approachability, such as the willingness to spoil them.
