PRESS BUTTER SAND, a butter sandwich specialty store operated by BAKE Inc. This time, the 'Butter Sand <Rum Raisin>' featuring a special packaging design by artist Shoichi Okumura will be available nationwide starting Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

The 'SWEETS MEETS ART' project spans four editions, each featuring original artwork by emerging artists that visually interpret the taste of sweets, used as packaging designs. The final chapter features the 'Butter Sand <Rum Raisin>,' with rum-soaked raisins blended into the cream, delivering a soft, fragrant burst of rum with every bite. Paired with the slightly bitter, aromatic cocoa cookies, the result is a rich and sophisticated flavor profile.

The packaging design is created by artist Shoichi Okumura, who translates the actual sensory experience of tasting the product into art. Drawing from traditional East Asian landscape paintings and mandalas, Okumura uniquely blends classical auspicious motifs with modern objects to depict a contemporary utopia.

Artistic Highlights of the Fourth Edition

The rich, aromatic scent of rum raisin upon the first bite is expressed through a gradient shifting from purple to pink. In the background behind the striking female figure enveloped in purple, a grapevine symbolizing raisins is illustrated.

Above the rum bottle depicted in the lower right corner, celestial beings such as apsaras, butterflies, and birds—symbols of good fortune (※)—float in the rising aroma. On the opposite side of the can, a helicopter representing modernity is illustrated, combining classical and contemporary motifs to express Okumura’s unique vision of a modern paradise.

The image of a woman riding a motorcycle into the wind evokes a sense of exoticism and journey, mirroring the rich and complex flavor of rum raisin.
