D1 Milano and Giugiaro Design Announce Limited-Edition Collaboration Watch Inspired by Automotive Aesthetics

Beyond Cool Co., Ltd., the official Japanese distributor for the Milan-based watch brand D1 Milano, has announced the release of a collaboration model with the world-renowned industrial design studio Giugiaro Design, scheduled for May 22, 2026.

This special edition model is limited to 500 pieces worldwide, with only 10 available in Japan. It is presented as a contemporary design piece that translates the philosophy of automotive design into a wristwatch.

The collaboration reinterprets the automotive design philosophy of Giugiaro Design, led by the master of industrial design Giorgetto Giugiaro, for the scale of a watch. Centered on the elements of 'light,' 'structure,' and 'motion,' the design aims to instill a sense of dynamism into a static object.

The 40mm case features a deliberately asymmetrical form, combined with polished and brushed finishes to create different expressions depending on how the light hits it. The dial's inner ring, with its 120 micro-teeth, provides a mechanical and precise rhythm, while red accents on the hands highlight the strong individuality characteristic of Giugiaro Design.

Comfort is also a key consideration, with a slim 7mm case and a crown positioned at 4 o'clock. A black PVD-coated Milanese mesh bracelet completes the sophisticated, urban look. The packaging, designed by Italdesign, ensures a consistent design story from the product to its exterior.
