BIRKENSTOCK's First Concept Store in Osaka Opens in Shinsaibashi

BIRKENSTOCK's concept stores have always fused the brand's core elements of tradition, function, and quality with the unique character of each city, creating one-of-a-kind spaces. Following stores in Harajuku, Shinjuku, and Nagoya, the 4th concept store will open in Shinsaibashi, Osaka. This 2-floor, largest street-level store in Japan will showcase a full lineup embodying the brand's aesthetics.

The Shinsaibashi concept store, opening on Friday, April 3, 2026, is BIRKENSTOCK's 12th permanent directly managed store in Japan, following the Ikebukuro store which opened in February of this year, as part of its retail expansion. This new store, arriving in Osaka, Japan's second-largest vibrant city, boasts the largest retail floor space in Japan across its two floors. It will feature a full lineup rooted in the brand's philosophy of "natural walking," including not only the main line but also the premium 1774 line and the Care Essentials foot & body care line, made with 100% naturally derived ingredients.

The interior design is minimalist, highlighting BIRKENSTOCK's craftsmanship and the charm of its materials. Based on white, it incorporates traditional mud walls, with elements symbolizing the brand such as cork and the characteristic bone pattern, meticulously arranged in a calculated layout. Adding organic accents to this gallery-like space are sculptural stools and fixtures by wood artist Naruki Takahashi. These one-of-a-kind works, carved from solid wood, resonate with BIRKENSTOCK's purpose of supporting each individual's natural gait. In the heart of the city, it offers a space that combines tranquility with organic warmth, allowing customers to engage with products at their own pace.

The first floor features a dedicated space for Care Essentials, where customers can try foot & body care products firsthand. On the second floor, customers can leisurely select their favorite pair from a wide selection of sandals, clogs, shoes, and boots, ranging from classic models to the latest creations.

To commemorate the opening, customers who purchase ¥22,000 or more (tax included) will receive a tote bag featuring motifs of BOSTON, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and LONDON, celebrating its 40th anniversary. The tote bags are limited in quantity and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
