SMS Co., Ltd. to Host 'Kabe-nashi Forum 2026 in Osaka' on June 23rd to Decode Disability Welfare Fee Revisions

The theme of this event is 'Deciphering the 2026 Disability Welfare Fee Revisions: Survival Strategies for the Reiwa Era.' Experts well-versed in the industry will explain the key points of the 2026 revisions to disability welfare service fees. Participants can learn about the impact on facility operations and concrete countermeasures. Participation is free for those involved in the disability welfare sector upon pre-registration. This event is the first in a series planned for major cities across Japan.

While disability welfare service fee revisions typically occur every three years, this year saw an exceptional interim revision implemented on April 1st and June 1st. This interim revision includes expansion of treatment improvement additions to boost wages, alongside revisions to multiple items such as work transition support system additions and basic service fee classifications. Many disability welfare providers are small-to-medium-sized and face difficulties securing resources, often leading to anxiety regarding regulatory compliance.

At the forum, guest speakers including Mr. Ryo Nakagawa (Vice President, National Association of Long-term Care Providers) and Mr. Akihito Moriki (Head, Hiroshima Chapter, Disability Welfare Division of the same association; Board Chair, Daijo Welfare Association) will provide insights into the revisions and future directions.
