Mobile Police Patlabor EZY File 1 Blu-ray to be Released May 22, the First Entry in a Fully New Series

Bandai Namco Filmworks announced that the Blu-ray version of 'Mobile Police Patlabor EZY File 1,' currently screening in theaters across Japan as of May 15, 2026, will be released on May 22, 2026. The product will be available exclusively through the official Bandai Namco Filmworks online stores, A-on STORE and Premium Bandai, as a limited production.

This release contains the first installment, 'File 1,' of the three-part fully original animated series 'Mobile Police Patlabor EZY.' The package includes a CD featuring the ending theme 'Baton' by Mariko Nagai. Video extras include a teaser, the main trailer, and a TV spot. Additionally, a double-sided jacket featuring new illustrations by Masami Yuki (original drawing) and Akemi Takada (coloring) is included.

Story

The year is 2030 in Japan, a time of rapid automation and unmanned technology development due to labor shortages and advancements in AI. Everything has changed since the end of the 20th century—society, technology, and the members of Special Vehicles Section 2. However, the Patlabor and the mission of the team remain unchanged. Although the '98-type AV Ingram' equipment is becoming outdated, the Second Section continues to protect the peace of the capital relying on their skilled operation techniques and the platoon's traditional wisdom and courage.

And then, spring. With the arrival of two new recruits to the Second Section, a new story is about to unfold.

About Mobile Police Patlabor EZY

This work is the first fully new animated installment in the Patlabor series in nearly a decade, produced by the legendary creator collective HEADGEAR, and is planned to be released in three parts. Production was announced in 2017, a pilot film was shown in 2022, and the '2026 Project Launch' was announced in September 2024.
