Booost Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Hiroyuki Aoi), a company that provides the No. 1*1 "Sustainability ERP" for two consecutive years among major companies and supports corporate value management by visualizing non-financial information as financial impact, held the second seminar in a series of four on decision-making for renewable energy procurement, titled "What Makes Companies Achieving 2030 Targets Different? Why Do CFOs and Business Departments Get Stuck? How to Advance Renewable Energy Procurement Through Internal Coordination," on June 24, 2026 (Wednesday).

In this second seminar, based on the evaluation points of various stakeholders organized in the first seminar, methods for fixing the integrated evaluation axis of stakeholders to make internal decision-making "operational," and the process of involving stakeholders including CFOs and business departments were explained.

Background of the Event

In recent years, as many companies set decarbonization targets, renewable energy procurement is rapidly transitioning from the "consideration phase" to the "implementation phase."

However, hasty procurement estimates in the "implementation phase" can lead to stagnation in decision-making, and there are not a few cases where large-scale introduction cannot be decided due to the following challenges:

・ Decision-making becomes difficult due to changes in external environments such as Middle East situations and revised GHG Protocol proposals ・ Procurement estimates proceed, but stop at comparison and evaluation ・ Even if price and competitiveness are compared, the decision ultimately reverts to conventional methods ・ Focus is only on cost advantages, and the value selection of renewable energy procurement does not proceed ・ Consensus formation with procurement, finance, and management does not progress ・ Priority organization for the 2030 target is not done

This seminar focuses not only on "renewable energy procurement itself" but also on the "decision-making structure," aiming to organize points for companies to proceed to the implementation phase.

Event Overview

Title: Second Seminar: Why Do CFOs and Business Departments Get Stuck? How to Advance Renewable Energy Procurement Through Internal Coordination

Date: June 24, 2026 (Wednesday)

Format: Online Seminar (Zoom)

Fee: Free (Pre-registration required)

Speaker: Junto Fujihara, Manager, Marketplace Business Department

Content of the Second Seminar:

In the second seminar, based on the "common failure structure" of companies where renewable energy procurement stops, which was organized in the first seminar, methods for fixing the integrated evaluation axis of stakeholders necessary to advance the decision-making of renewable energy procurement and the process of involving stakeholders to promote internal consensus formation were explained.

<Agenda>

・ Common bottlenecks in renewable energy procurement seen from the first seminar participant survey ・ Methods for fixing the integrated evaluation axis of stakeholders ・ Constraints to be fixed before comparison ・ Types of involvement sequences that can advance decision-making

Participant Feedback (Excerpts)

In the second seminar participant survey, the following voices were raised regarding practical content on the factors of stagnation in decision-making for renewable energy procurement and the progress of internal consensus formation:

"I recognized the importance of aligning constraints with CFOs and business departments in advance."

"I thought I was weighting the evaluation axis of renewables, but it wasn't done. I realized that without this, discussions at the time of decision-making would go in circles."

"It was educational to view PPA from an investment perspective. I want to incorporate the perspective of long-term risk return and proceed with consideration within the company."

Details of the third seminar and beyond will be announced as they are decided.

<Future Themes and Titles (Planned)>

Third Seminar: Essentials of RFP (Request for Proposal) Design

Fourth Seminar: Practical Types for Comparison and Approval After Procurement Estimates
