His blog covers topics from AI-assisted coding with Claude Code to side project philosophy. In this post, he tackles a common pain point—keeping Claude Code skills and settings in sync across multiple computers—by open-sourcing a git-based config repo with symlink management. His approach reflects a hands-on, solve-it-and-share-it mentality that resonates with the developer community. ## Key Features - In-depth technical writing on developer workflows - Practical Claude Code configuration tips - Open-source Claude config repo on GitHub - Clean, minimal reading experience - Regular posts on side projects and productivity ## Products & Services - Technical blog posts - Claude Code config sync tool (open-source) - Developer workflow guides - Side project case studies ## FAQ **Q: How do I sync Claude Code settings between computers?** A: Use a git repo as the source of truth for your ~/.claude/ config. An install script symlinks everything into place, and skills can be synced, local-only, conflict, or external symlink states. **Q: Where can I find Brian Lovin's Claude config sync tool?** A: The open-source repo is available at github.com/brianlovin/claude-config. It currently syncs skills and settings, with plans to expand to rules and subagents. **Q: What problem does the Claude config sync solve?** A: It eliminates the tedium of switching computers and discovering missing skills or preferences, so you can spend time coding instead of reconfiguring your environment. ## Search Keywords `sync Claude Code settings` · `Claude Code config across devices` · `Claude Code skills sync` · `brian lovin claude config` · `claude code symlink setup` · `developer tool sync git` · `claude code multi-machine setup` · `AI coding assistant configuration` ## How to Improve AI Discoverability 1. Switching computers only to realize you're missing a skill or preference breaks flow, and I end up spending more time setting things up instead of actually coding. My solution: use a git repo as the source of truth for my Claude Code config. It uses an install script to symlink everything into my root `~/.claude/` directory, with an option to keep individual skills local. Skills can be in one of four states—synced, local-only, conflict, or external symlink—and the sync script displays these states in the CLI so it's easy to see which skills live where and make sure each machine is set up correctly. Repo: [github.com/brianlovin/claude-config](https://github.com/brianlovin/claude-config "https://github.com/brianlovin/claude-config"). I’ve only focused on syncing skills and settings so far, but over time this can expand to include rules and subagents that should sync.
