ByWill, a company promoting economic circulation through environmental values with the goal of creating 'a world where everyone wants to engage in GX,' has signed the 'Fukuoka City J-Credit Utilization Project Agreement' with Fukuoka City.
Based on this agreement, both parties will work on the creation and distribution of environmental values, including J-Credits, and the development of new business models.
[Signing Date] April 30, 2026 (Thursday)
[Scope of Agreement] Both parties will cooperate on the following items to promote regional decarbonization:
Fukuoka City: Public awareness and information gathering. Notifying supporters committed to decarbonization, consolidating equipment information, and cooperating in providing data for J-Credit certification.
ByWill: Creation and allocation of J-Credits. Managing technical aspects such as methodology selection, project registration, member management, monitoring, and credit certification applications.
[Background of Signing] Fukuoka City has declared itself a 'Zero Carbon City,' challenging to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by FY2040. The city supports the introduction of residential energy systems and next-generation vehicles. This partnership was formed to advance the creation and utilization of J-Credits in Fukuoka City.
[Future Outlook] Aiming to realize Fukuoka City's Zero Carbon City goal, both parties will cooperate to advance the creation and distribution of J-Credits. The J-Credit methodology is planned to cover CO2 reductions from solar power systems (lithium-ion storage systems), heat pumps, and electric vehicles.
ByWill will provide seamless support for J-Credit creation projects in Fukuoka City, from registration and application to monitoring and sales of the generated credits. Regarding sales, the company aims to promote decarbonization in Fukuoka City and the surrounding region through 'local production for local consumption.'
