ByWill Selected for Shiga Prefecture's "Decarbonization Promotion Project in Supply Chains"

This project is a collaboration between Shiga Prefecture (Location: Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture; Governor: Taizo Mikazuki) and major/medium-sized enterprises to support decarbonization at the supply chain level.

About the "Decarbonization Promotion Project in Supply Chains"

Shiga Prefecture is working to promote decarbonization among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the prefecture with the goal of achieving a net-zero CO2 society by 2050.

This project, in line with national and global decarbonization trends, aims to promote decarbonization among SMEs, who are suppliers, as major and medium-sized enterprises advance decarbonization across their entire supply chains.

Through this project, ByWill will collaborate with the prefecture and major/medium-sized enterprises that share common challenges to support decarbonization at the supply chain level. This will promote decarbonization efforts by SMEs in the prefecture and contribute to the sustainable growth of the region and the realization of carbon neutrality.

About the Selection Details

ByWill will support companies facing the challenge of "having calculated emissions but not leading to concrete reduction measures" by providing support from emissions calculation to the proposal and execution of reduction measures.

- Holding "Study Sessions on Calculating Greenhouse Gas Emissions per Product/Service" for Major and Medium-sized Enterprises

Study sessions on calculating greenhouse gas emissions per product/service and across the entire supply chain will be held for major and medium-sized enterprises. ByWill will also support companies in understanding and visualizing their emissions through the provision of web content and practical calculation support.

- Holding "Study Sessions on Decarbonization in Supply Chains" for Major and Medium-sized Enterprises

Study sessions will be held for major and medium-sized enterprises to promote decarbonization across the entire supply chain by sharing national support systems and best practices, and facilitating information exchange among companies.

- Support for Decarbonization at the Supply Chain Level (Holding "Study Sessions for Suppliers")

Support for decarbonization at the supply chain level will be provided to major/medium-sized enterprises and their suppliers. ByWill will support the promotion of decarbonization management through corporate collaboration by holding study sessions for suppliers and providing information on various support systems.

- Collection and organization of information necessary to support decarbonization at the supply chain level

By investigating national support systems and best practices, and conducting interviews with companies in the prefecture, ByWill will grasp the challenges and needs for decarbonization across the entire supply chain and support companies in their decarbonization management.

- Information provision from the prefecture to supplier SMEs through the supply chain

Information on the necessity of decarbonization and support systems for companies will be provided to major/medium-sized enterprises and their suppliers, supporting the promotion of decarbonization management across the entire supply chain.
