Compliance Data Lab Inc. (CDL) announced that the 'Compliance Station® UBO Series,' which provides instant online access to Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) information using the high-quality corporate database of Tokyo Shoko Research Ltd. (TSR), has been adopted by The Nagasaki Bank, Ltd. In recent years, money laundering cases involving corporate accounts have increased, making continuous customer due diligence increasingly important for financial institutions. As cases that are difficult to handle with traditional operational methods increase, balancing the reduction of practical workload with the effectiveness of management has become a major challenge. To address these issues, Nagasaki Bank was considering new solutions that could simultaneously realize the sophistication and efficiency of continuous customer due diligence. As a result, the bank adopted the 'Compliance Station® UBO Series,' highly evaluating its ability to comprehensively acquire information necessary for customer risk assessment, including UBOs, and to grasp changes in this information in a timely manner. Nagasaki Bank will utilize the 'Compliance Station® UBO Series' for its continuous customer due diligence operations for corporate clients. Previously, confirming corporate status and collecting the latest company names, addresses, representative information, and UBOs required significant time and cost. The introduction of this service will reduce the burden on customers while enabling the efficient collection of comprehensive and up-to-date information. This is expected to lead to more sophisticated compliance management. With an eye toward the 5th FATF Mutual Evaluation of Japan in 2028, CDL will continue to strengthen its product development and support systems to contribute to the further sophistication of Nagasaki Bank's continuous customer due diligence, as more effective AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing) operational systems are required.
