The 2026 Kinshuki and Gyokuryuki High School Judo and Kendo Tournaments, which gather a total of 1,300 schools and approximately 10,000 athletes from across the country to compete for traditional banners through elimination-style team matches, will be held at Teriha Sekisui House Arena (Fukuoka City General Gymnasium) from July 22 to 29.
The Kinshuki Judo Tournament will take place from July 22 to 24, while the Gyokuryuki Kendo Tournament will be held from July 25 to 29. The event is organized by the Nishinippon Shimbun, the Kyushu Judo Association, and the Kyushu Kendo Federation. Sponsors include various companies such as Ikai, Token Corporation, and Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan.
A key feature of the tournament is the 'winner stays on' (nuki-shobu) format, a 5-person team elimination battle where defeating many opponents single-handedly is highly prestigious. The event's main visual is created by Sumi-e artist Yuki Nishimoto. All matches will be live-streamed for free on the 'Nishispo WEB OTTO!' YouTube channel.
Spectator tickets are sold via Arutone Ticket Online, with general admission at 1,200 yen, high school students at 800 yen, and middle school students and younger admitted for free.
