Canon IT Solutions Inc. (Canon ITS), a member of the Canon Marketing Japan Group, has participated in the 3rd interconnection test conducted by the Digital Invoice Promotion Association (EIPA) using its 'SuperStream-NX Digital Invoice Option.' Through this test, the company demonstrated that its business process, from the receipt of digital invoices to the creation of payment vouchers, can seamlessly integrate with various systems and services provided by other companies.
Background: Global Adoption of Peppol and Digital Invoices Peppol, an international standard for exchanging electronic documents such as invoices over networks, has been adopted in European countries, Singapore, and Australia. As a result, the global use of digital invoices (Peppol e-invoice) is progressing rapidly. In Japan, to create an environment where businesses can use digital invoices with confidence, several certified Peppol Service Providers and 24 EIPA member companies, including Canon ITS, collaborated to conduct the 3rd interconnection test between their respective systems and services starting in November 2024.
Results and Significance of the Interconnection Test A total of 546 interconnection tests were successfully completed in this 3rd round. Participating companies included 24 major Japanese IT and software vendors such as Infomart, WingArc1st, OBIC Business Consultant, Money Forward, Yayoi, and Works Applications.
The digital invoice framework not only enables smooth exchange with domestic and international business partners but also promotes 'digitalization' through paperless compliance with the invoice system and automation of business processes. In this test, Canon ITS confirmed that digital invoices could be received and payment vouchers created directly within 'SuperStream-NX.' This is expected to bring concrete benefits such as reduced transcription work, prevention of input errors, improved efficiency in payment operations, and enhanced accuracy.
Future Outlook and About 'SuperStream-NX' Canon ITS plans to continue its active participation in interconnection tests, contributing to the popularization of digital invoices in Japan.
