About TBS Television's "World Heritage"
With the program concept of "recording World Heritage sites, the common property of humankind, with the latest technology and preserving them for the future," the program has conveyed the charm of World Heritage sites in high-definition video for 30 years. Broadcasting began in 1996, and in 2006 and 2026, UNESCO awarded letters of appreciation for contributions to the promotion of World Heritage sites. In 2019, it received the Japan Geographical Society Award for Social Contribution for its contributions to the dissemination of geographical knowledge, the first time a television program has received this award.
Starting with the broadcast in April 2024, actor Ryohei Suzuki became the ninth narrator, serving as the program's "navigator" and conveying the appeal of World Heritage sites while incorporating his own thoughts.
Latest program previews and interviews with Ryohei Suzuki can be viewed on the official program YouTube channel.
