In 2026, the NPO Children's Campaign for Palestine (Toyo Building 4F, 3-12-23 Shimo-Ochiai, Shinjuku-ku), with the full cooperation of the Japan Handicraft Instructors Association Secretariat, launched the "KNIT4GAZA" project. Participant registration began in March, and various events are planned leading up to a showcase in the fall.
Let's Knit and Connect: "Gaza Stories + Banner Motif Knitting Session" will be held. This event is designed for participants to hear a little about the current situation of children in Gaza and the project, while enjoying tea and sweets, and then knit motifs (18cm square) for a banner together.
The venue will be provided by Galata Bazaar, a store that imports and sells hand-woven rugs, lamps, and other items from Turkey, Egypt, and other countries.
Instructors will be present, so beginners are very welcome! We look forward to your applications. ------------------------------------ Title: Knit for Gaza "Gaza Stories + Banner Motif Knitting Session" Date: July 25, 2026 (Sat) 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Participation Fee: 1,500 yen (includes tea, Palestinian sweets, and charity) Instructor: Akiko Arima (Flog Studio Teshi-goto Bu) Capacity: 15 people *Advance registration required Location: Galata Bazaar Store (3-32-1 Chuo, Nakano-ku, Tokyo) Access: 3-minute walk from Exit A4 of Shin-Nakano Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line How to Apply: Please apply by email ([email protected]) or phone (Children's Campaign for Palestine 03-3953-1393).
