Cosmo Energy Holdings, guided by its group philosophy of 'harmony and coexistence between the earth, humanity, and society,' operates the 'Cosmo Earth Conscious Act' environmental initiative with TOKYO FM and the Japan FM Network (JFN). As part of this, the company held a 'Clean Campaign' in Sakai, Osaka, on May 23 (Saturday) in collaboration with FM Osaka, attracting 390 participants.
Meteorologist Daisuke Hourai and athletes from the Nippon Steel Sakai Blazers joined the participants in cleaning up the Sakai-hama Beach, collecting approximately 6,200 liters of trash.
The event also featured exhibits and talk shows centered on SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), for which full-scale production has recently begun in Sakai. Attendees learned about the process through which used cooking oil, collected from households and the event venue, is recycled into SAF at Cosmo’s large-scale plant in the Sakai Refinery.
Additionally, the event showcased the COSMO Eco Fund and included a talk show featuring local high school students, providing an opportunity for participants to engage deeply with topics regarding the environment and energy.
