Chieru Corporation (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Mutsumi Kagami), a company supporting ICT utilization in school education, announces the September 2026 enhancement of integration between the audio-visual distribution system 'S600-OP'—widely used in high school intermediate monitoring systems—and the network switch 'CHIehub.' The new 'S600-OP Browser Controller' (hereinafter 'the Controller') will allow users to control and configure the S600-OP directly from the CHIehub web browser interface. By leveraging this Controller, institutions can achieve a flexible, OS-independent operational environment and improved usability through the unification of control and configuration functions.

Background of the Update

Previously, control of the 'S600-OP' audio-visual distribution system was typically performed using either a dedicated hardware panel or a dedicated Windows application. However, this approach presented challenges such as rising hardware costs and the need to directly connect the S600-OP to a Windows PC. To address these issues, Chieru adopted a strategy of actively shifting functionalities to software solutions. As part of this initiative, the company has developed the new Controller as a feature of CHIehub, enabling control via web browser. This advancement allows operation from a multi-device environment using standard web browsers.

Features of the S600-OP Browser Controller

- OS-Independent Operation via Web Browser In addition to the traditional Windows application and dedicated hardware panel, the S600-OP can now be operated directly from a web browser. This eliminates dependency on specific operating systems or devices, enabling flexible deployment across a multi-device environment, including tablets.

- Unified Control and Configuration for Improved Usability and Support Efficiency The previously separate control and configuration functions are now integrated into a single web-based user interface (WebUI). From the main control screen—featuring source switching, split/merge, audio mute, and more—users can centrally manage input, output, and detailed settings. Commands for tuning configurations, which previously required a separate application, can now be executed seamlessly from within the same interface.

- Simplified Troubleshooting with PoE Restart Function A restart button within the WebUI enables remote power cycling of the S600-OP encoders and decoders. This allows for rapid recovery during system failures without the need to physically access on-site equipment. (Note: An optional PoE splitter is required for decoder restart functionality.)

- Audio Volume Adjustment and PoE Port Scheduling Support Users can adjust the audio volume of S600-OP decoders directly from the interface. Additionally, the ON/OFF status of PoE output on individual CHIehub ports can be scheduled. This enables automated power management of connected devices according to operational hours, contributing to energy savings and stable system operation.
