Choice Hotels Japan Launches Experience-Focused 'Comfort Hotel ERA' Brand in Kyoto, Nagoya, and Ishigakijima

Choice Hotels Japan (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Takahiko Ito), which operates brands including Comfort Hotel, Comfort Hotel ERA, and Ascend Collection, announced that it will rebrand 'Comfort Hotel Kyoto Horikawa Gojo' on June 22, 2026, 'Comfort Hotel Nagoya Meieki Minami' on June 24, 2026, and 'Comfort Hotel Ishigakijima' on June 26, 2026, to 'Comfort Hotel ERA'.

This rebranding aims to meet diverse travel needs by offering the stay itself as a key element of the travel experience. In response to increasing demand for quality time at hotels beyond just sightseeing, the company will provide active, personalized stays that allow guests to feel the unique charm of the region through the Comfort Library Cafe, guest rooms, and breakfast offerings.

Comfort Hotel ERA Kyoto Horikawa Gojo (Rebranding June 22, 2026) Conveniently located for the Kyoto Station area. The library cafe features metal-woven art by Kyoto Yuzen masters. It includes regional crafts such as Fushimi dolls and Kyoto Temari, along with over 300 books on Kyoto culture. The breakfast offers locally-sourced menus, including 'Saikyo-miso Shiratama Miso Soup'.

Comfort Hotel ERA Nagoya Meieki Minami (Rebranding June 24, 2026) Located about an 8-minute walk from Kintetsu Nagoya Station. The library cafe features over 300 books related to Nagoya culture and cuisine, along with a dedicated art wall. The breakfast offers local specialties such as 'Aka-miso soup', 'Koro Kishimen', and 'Nagoya Famous Sandwiches' filled with miso-katsu and shrimp fry.
