Chiba Institute of Science (Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture; President: Kazuo Fujimoto) has received a high evaluation for its educational quality, ranking among the top nationally in numerous categories in the 2025 'National Student Survey' conducted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
To further build upon these achievements and ensure the growth of each student, the university will launch a new educational reform package, the 'ABC Initiative,' from the 2026 academic year.
This initiative is the university's unique educational reform program that supports student learning at each stage: 'admission,' 'enrollment,' and 'graduation,' and is composed of three pillars:
* **ALIVE Project** to revitalize learning * **BRIDGE Program** to connect learning from high school to university * **CIPS Scheme** to support national examination and employment outcomes
Overview of the Educational Reform Package 'ABC Initiative'
### A: ALIVE Project (Learning Revitalization) Aiming to transform classrooms into 'vibrant learning spaces,' the project will implement active learning-style classes based on cooperative learning across the entire university. It will foster students' autonomy and collaboration, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for success in the real world.
### B: BRIDGE Program (First-Year Education) As a 'bridge' to smoothly connect learning from high school to university, this program supports the establishment of necessary foundational skills and study habits in the first year. Through interdisciplinary learning experiences, students will deepen their understanding of specialized fields while cultivating critical thinking, collaborative skills, and self-growth capabilities.
### C: CIPS Scheme (Quality Assurance of Outcomes) Progress management utilizing KGI, KPI, and KDI will be implemented to achieve goals such as national examinations, employment, and civil service examinations. This scheme visualizes the learning outcomes of each student, steadily accumulating results such as passing examinations and securing employment.
Towards Educational Reform with United Faculty and Staff To pave the way for each student's future, the passion and collaboration of faculty and staff are indispensable. Chiba Institute of Science, towards the success of this 'ABC Initiative,' will work as one across all faculties and departments to further promote students' proactive learning and the development of human resources capable of thriving in society.
