Welcia Pharmacy Launches 'Uetan-go' Mobile Sales Vehicle in Fukaya City, Saitama, to Support Local Community Building

Welcia Pharmacy Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Junichi Tanaka; hereinafter 'Welcia Pharmacy') is pleased to announce the launch of the 'Uetan-go' mobile sales vehicle in Fukaya City, Saitama, to increase opportunities for shopping support, social interaction, and health promotion for the elderly and others. Following the 'Sustainability Basic Policy' formulated in November 2021, Welcia Pharmacy aims to realize a 'community that leaves no one behind' and serve as infrastructure providing safety and security to local society. The first 'Uetan-go' vehicle began operation in Shimada City, Shizuoka, in May 2022. With this launch, there are now 41 vehicles operating in 38 municipalities nationwide. We are cooperating with local governments to aim for 'community-based' collaboration through the use of 'Welcafe' (a community space within Welcia pharmacies) and the circulation of mobile sales vehicles. 'Uetan-go' sells food, daily necessities, cosmetics, and OTC drugs (including Class 1 drugs, requiring pre-order). It also provides value-added services such as online health consultations with pharmacists and dietitians via a large monitor, cashless payments, point accumulation, and utility bill payment services.
