Welcia Pharmacy Launches 'Uetan-go' Mobile Sales Vehicle in Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture, to Support Local Community Building

Welcia Pharmacy Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Junichi Tanaka; hereinafter 'Welcia Pharmacy') is pleased to announce the launch of its 'Uetan-go' mobile sales vehicle in Fukaya City, Saitama Prefecture, aimed at increasing opportunities for shopping assistance, social interaction, and health promotion for the elderly and other residents.

In accordance with the 'Sustainability Basic Policy' formulated in November 2021 as a Welcia Group company, and with the goal of realizing a 'community that leaves no one behind' and serving as infrastructure that provides safety and security to local society, Welcia Pharmacy launched its first 'Uetan-go' mobile sales vehicle in Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture, in May 2022. With this latest launch, there are now 41 vehicles in operation across 38 municipalities nationwide.

We are cooperating with each municipality to build a local support system for the elderly. This includes aiming for 'community-based' collaboration through the use of 'Welcafe' (*1), a community collaboration space operated within Welcia Pharmacy locations, and the circulation of mobile sales vehicles, which has led to the launch of the 'Uetan-go' in this region.

*1 Welcafe: Established within Welcia Pharmacy locations as a space for community collaboration to solve various local social issues, these spaces are available free of charge for health promotion, welfare, and cultural activities.

The 'Uetan-go' mobile sales vehicle sells food and daily necessities, as well as cosmetics and over-the-counter drugs (*2), including Class 1 pharmaceuticals (requires advance ordering). Additionally, the vehicle offers value-added services such as online health consultations with store pharmacists or registered dietitians via a large onboard monitor, credit and cashless payment options, WAON POINT and V-Point accumulation, and utility bill payment services. Through the operation of 'Uetan-go,' we strive to ensure that residents of each municipality can enjoy shopping while contributing to mutual support activities among residents and the creation of local communities.

*2 Products ordered in advance at the Welcia Fukaya Chuo store will be delivered via the mobile sales vehicle.
