Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture, will implement the 'Murashige Project' within the city starting around May 2026, coinciding with the release of the film 'Kokurojo', which depicts the Sengoku warlord Araki Murashige, who has deep ties to the city. This project aims to create opportunities to engage with local history, including the life of Araki Murashige, while also increasing awareness and theater attendance for the film 'Kokurojo'. Furthermore, it seeks to foster local pride and encourage visitors from outside the city. The film 'Kokurojo', set to be released on June 19, and the currently airing NHK Taiga drama 'Toyotomi Kyodai!' both feature Araki Murashige, the lord of Arioka Castle (Itami Castle). Taking this opportunity, Itami City will implement the following projects under the title 'Murashige Project': 1. Collaboration with local businesses: We are recruiting local stores to sell products (or product packaging) related to Araki Murashige or the film, and will introduce them on the official Itami City website. The Itami City Tourist Product Gallery (located inside JR Itami Station) also plans to sell related products. 2. 'Kokurojo' Panel Exhibition: We will hold panel exhibitions of the film in public facilities in the central area of Itami City to encourage visitors to explore the city (Cooperation: Shochiku Co., Ltd.). 3. Information dissemination through various media: We will regularly provide the latest information on the project and columns about Arioka Castle on the Itami City city promotion website and official social media. For the latest information on each of the above projects, please visit the Itami City city promotion website 'Mirai e Tsunagu Machi Itami'.
