Kawasaki City is calling for applications for the 'Kawasaki CN Brand 2026' and the 'Kawasaki Mechanism Certification System,' which recognize outstanding products, technologies, and services from local businesses that contribute to CO2 reduction. Both systems are part of the city's initiative to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions (carbon neutrality) by 2050. The city certifies products that contribute to CO2 reduction throughout their entire lifecycle, from raw material procurement to disposal, and have a ripple effect on citizen behavior and the environmental awareness of other businesses. After certification, the city will promote these products through various media channels. This is recommended for businesses that want to promote their eco-friendly products or calculate their CO2 emissions. The project is operated by a council consisting of the Kawasaki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Kawasaki Institute of Industrial Promotion, the Liaison Center for Industry and Environment, Kawasaki Shinkin Bank, and Kawasaki City. 1. Kawasaki CN Brand: This program certifies products, technologies, and services originating from Kawasaki that reduce CO2 throughout their lifecycle and have a positive impact on society. Last year, 10 items were certified. (1) Application Period: April 16 (Thu) to July 3 (Fri), 2026. (2) Eligibility: Products/technologies developed or manufactured in Kawasaki, or services planned or provided in Kawasaki. (3) Application Method: Experts provide free support from consultation to application. (4) Announcement: Results are scheduled to be announced around November. 2. Kawasaki Mechanism Certification System: This system visualizes the amount of CO2 reduction contributed by local businesses outside the city area (external contribution) and certifies them so they can be appropriately evaluated in the market. 3. Panel Exhibition: An exhibition explaining the Kawasaki CN Brand and past certified products will be held at the Kawasaki City Hall Main Building 1F from June 2 to June 30, 2026.
