Kawasaki Ward will once again host the Tokaido Kawasaki Shukuba Festival on Sunday, October 4, to create vibrancy by leveraging Kawasaki-shuku, a local cultural asset.
In advance of the event, we are now accepting applications starting Wednesday, July 15, for participants in the 'Costume Parade' held on the event day and riders for the 'Cruise Ship' operating at the Rokugo Ferry venue.
The costume parade will take place on a temporarily closed section of the Tokaido highway, allowing not only traditional Japanese attire as in previous years but any costume theme. The parade route has also been extended this year. The cruise ship operation, returning for the first time in two years, will run from Kawasaki to Haneda at the Rokugo venue.
Additionally, various events will be held, including traditional cultural experiences that allow visitors to engage with Japan's heritage, making for a rich program full of Edo-period charm.
