Kitakyushu City has launched a portal site summarizing the two-year initiatives of its "Generation Z Division," the first of its kind in Japan. This division was established in April 2024 with the aim of reflecting the needs and values of young people in policy-making to create a sustainable city. The portal site introduces youth support projects such as the "Generation Z Challenge Contest," mechanisms for dialogue with young people, examples of co-creation projects (e.g., KOKURA DANCE STATION), and policy reflection processes (Generation Z Division Partners). A representative commented that young people are positioned as "partners" rather than "targets."
