In the northwestern part of Machida Yakushiike Park Shikisai no Mori, in the fields near the Botan Garden, Furusato Nogukan (Folk Tool Museum), and Nanakuniyama Farmers Center, the rapeseed blossoms are coming into full bloom. These rapeseed blossoms are cultivated by the Nanakuniyama Fureai no Sato Kumiai (Nanakuniyama Friendship Village Association), composed of local farmers, to preserve the agricultural landscape. After enjoying the flowers, the rapeseed seeds ("natane") will be harvested, and a demonstration and sale of rapeseed oil pressing will be held once a month at the "Furusato Nogukan." Sales of Nanakuniyama Soba and soba flour, made from buckwheat harvested last autumn, will also begin on April 1st.
