Saga City, in collaboration with businesses and other organizations, held the 'Elderly Frailty and Dementia Countermeasures Health Conference Study Group' at Saga City Hall on April 23, Reiwa 8. Approximately 30 participants, including medical and welfare professionals and businesses, attended.
Amidst the progressing aging of society, participants shared initiatives and challenges aimed at extending healthy life expectancy and creating a community where people with dementia can live with peace of mind, and exchanged opinions.
Hints for a 'Symbiotic Society' Seen from the Lectures On the day, lectures were given on the theme of 'Realizing a Symbiotic Society,' and the following individuals took the stage:

The importance of frailty countermeasures through diet and spreading correct understanding of dementia was introduced.
Speakers also voiced the opinion that 'collaboration utilizing the strengths of universities, administration, and businesses is important,' sharing the necessity of cross-sectoral cooperation.
What Each Party Can Do from Their Respective Positions The city introduced initiatives to promote social participation among the elderly, measures for frailty prevention and long-term care prevention, and initiatives against dementia.
Businesses also presented their initiatives through their respective operations.
During the opinion exchange, participants frankly exchanged views on challenges felt on-site and possibilities for future collaboration.
From This Step to the Next Action Based on the opinions gathered at this study group, Saga City plans to hold a 'Health Conference' this autumn.
Utilizing these connections, the city will develop more concrete initiatives and promote community development where the elderly can live with peace of mind.
