Saitama City will launch a project from Friday, May 1, Reiwa 8 (2026), utilizing a crowdfunding-type 'Government Crowdfunding®' system for hometown tax donations. The purpose of this project is to connect the 'Minuma Rice Fields Cherry Blossom Corridor,' which is Japan's longest cherry blossom corridor where people can stroll under cherry trees, to the future.

The 'Minuma Rice Fields Cherry Blossom Corridor' is an impressive corridor boasting over 20km in total length and approximately 2,000 cherry trees in full bloom. This cherry blossom corridor began in the 1980s with an administrative 'Cherry Tree Planting Project.' After the birth of Saitama City, citizens, organizations, and companies took the lead in planting trees through the 'Minuma Tanbo Cherry Road Project,' which was succeeded in fiscal year 2013 by the current 'Aim for Japan's Best! Sakura Saku Minuma Tanbo Project.' In 2017, the aspirations of many people bore fruit, and the 'Minuma Rice Fields Cherry Blossom Corridor' became Japan's longest cherry blossom corridor, exceeding 20km in total length, where visitors can enjoy strolling under the cherry trees.

However, the trees planted around the 1980s are aging, and the number of dead branches, broken branches, and trees that must be felled is increasing. If this continues, there is a risk that the 'Japan's Best Cherry Blossom Corridor' will not be able to be maintained. We ask for your support to maintain and improve the strolling environment of the 'Minuma Rice Fields Cherry Blossom Corridor.'
