Takatsuki City will begin accepting applications on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, for its "Waste Disposal Support for the Elderly and Others" program, which provides free door-to-door collection of household waste for elderly households and others who find it difficult to carry their trash to designated collection points. This initiative is designed to assist households that struggle to transport waste to collection sites, including those requiring nursing care, individuals with disabilities, and expectant or nursing mothers. Eligible households are those residing in the city where all members are unable to take out trash, meeting criteria such as having a nursing care level of 2 or higher, holding a Grade 1 or 2 Physical Disability Certificate, a Grade 1 Mental Disability Health and Welfare Certificate, a Grade A Rehabilitation Certificate, or being an expectant/nursing mother. Staff will visit once a week to collect combustible, recyclable, and non-combustible waste (limited to items fitting in 45-liter bags) placed in containers provided by the user.
