The 'Satsuki Flower Exhibition,' organized by the Takatsuki Satsuki Association, is being held at the Takatsuki Lifelong Learning Center through Friday, May 29, 2026. Approximately 80 Satsuki bonsai trees, meticulously nurtured by members of the association, are on display, delighting visitors with vibrant white, red, and pink blossoms.

This exhibition has been held annually since 1976 with the goal of encouraging the appreciation of flowers and greenery while introducing visitors to Japanese traditional arts dating back to the Edo period. The association, composed of local Satsuki enthusiasts, proudly showcases their carefully crafted bonsai.

Visitors can enjoy a diverse range of tree shapes, including 'chokkan' (upright) with powerful stems, 'kengai' (cascade) with flowing branches, and 'moyogi' (formal upright) featuring beautiful stem curves. Some specimens include ancient trees over 70 years old and grand bonsai standing over 80 centimeters tall. The public is invited to experience the feeling of early summer at this event.
