Original commemorative stamps titled 'Ayuko Suzuki's Hometown Toyohashi,' featuring Tokyo Olympic women's marathon representative Ayuko Suzuki (Japan Post Group Athletics Team), have been released. On March 23, 2026, Suzuki visited the Toyohashi City Hall to report the release to Mayor Naoto Nagasaka, expressing her hope that the stamps would help people across Japan learn about the charm of Toyohashi. The stamps are limited to 700 sheets and have been on sale at all post offices in the Higashimikawa region since March 16, 2026. Starting March 25, 2026, they are also available on the 'Post Office Net Shop.' The designs include Suzuki in action, as well as iconic Toyohashi landmarks like the Toyohashi Public Hall, Yoshida Castle, Asian elephants at Nonhoi Park, and the Toyohashi Oni Matsuri festival. Suzuki shared her excitement, noting that the Oni Matsuri design is her favorite due to her childhood memories. Additionally, the event highlighted the success of the 'Ayuko Suzuki Cup Honokuni Toyohashi Half Marathon 2026,' where she served as honorary chairperson, emphasizing the importance of community support in local events.
