Toyonaka City will conduct practical training on evacuation equipment for municipal staff, preparing for fires in city halls and other facilities where stair evacuation may be impossible.
During the training, city firefighters will demonstrate how to operate vertical rescue chutes and controlled descent devices—equipment designed to safely evacuate people from upper floors to the ground—and participating municipal staff will perform hands-on operation.
This initiative aims to establish a system where staff can calmly and safely use evacuation equipment during fires at city-owned facilities, thereby enhancing the disaster response capabilities of municipal employees.
