Kinmen Ambassador Theatre to Cease Operations on May 4

The Kinmen Ambassador Theatre announced on its Facebook page that it will cease operations after closing on May 4, 2023, due to the expiration of its lease. The theatre has served the community for 12 years. Kinmen currently has two cinemas: the Golden Lake Cinema in the Wind Lion Lord Shopping Street and the Kinmen Ambassador Theatre in the Everrich Golden Lake Plaza. Following the closure, only the Golden Lake Cinema will remain. Residents expressed regret over the loss of another cinema, noting that the number of movie theaters in Kinmen has declined over the years. Some hope the remaining cinema can sustain its operations.
