A signal failure caused by construction work between Zhongli and Puxin on Taiwan Railways occurred early this morning, halting service in both directions. Taiwan Railways Corporation stated that after emergency repairs, normal operations resumed at 6:05 AM. The incident affected 7 trains and caused a cumulative delay of 118 minutes. Taiwan Railways explained that at 4:45 AM today, when the construction blockade on the east and west main lines between Zhongli and Puxin was being lifted, the track occupancy light remained on, preventing the blockade from being lifted. Additionally, the level crossings between Zhongli and Puxin were not functioning. To ensure safety, the line was temporarily closed. Taiwan Railways noted that after emergency repairs by the signal department, normal operations resumed at 6:05 AM. The company expressed its sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
