Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic defeated local French player Valentin Royer in the second round of the French Open on the 27th, advancing to the round of 32. He continues his pursuit of a record-breaking 25th career Grand Slam singles title. According to AFP, Djokovic faced world No. 74 Valentin Royer on the French Open's center court (Court Philippe Chatrier), winning the match 6-3, 6-2, 6-7 (7-9), 6-3. Djokovic is 39 years old and has won 24 Grand Slam titles in his career. He is currently tied with Australian tennis legend Margaret Court for the 24-title record. If he lifts the trophy for the fourth time at this year's French Open, he will hold the all-time record for most titles. Djokovic will face Brazilian rising star Joao Fonseca or Croatian player Dino Prizmic in the third round.
