According to CNA, regarding reports that Chinese authorities would no longer arrange visits for former President Ma Ying-jeou, TAO spokesperson Chen Binhua stated today that such reports are 'purely baseless speculation and complete rumors.' Mirror Media previously reported that due to Ma's unusual behavior at a banquet in Shanghai last June, three Chinese departments, including the TAO, had reached a consensus to stop arranging his visits. During a regular press conference, Chen responded to a question from CNA by emphasizing that the claim is entirely false. He also affirmed that the activities organized by the Ma Ying-jeou Foundation have promoted exchanges between people on both sides, especially among youth, and reiterated that both sides are 'one family' and that exchanges are a trend.
