Central News Agency (CNA), Chen Chih-chung, Taipei, May 27. The application guidelines for the 115th-year Ministry of Education EU Scholarship were announced on the website today. There are 20 spots available, and selected students can receive an annual scholarship of $16,000 USD (approximately NT$500,000). Starting this year, those who have obtained "self-funded student" status are also eligible to apply.
The Ministry of Education issued a press release today stating that the "Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Scholarships" is an international education program supported by the European Commission. For each discipline, students can choose from at least three EU countries and three or more universities.
During the course of study, students have the opportunity to study at two or more different schools in different countries and receive diplomas from two or more European countries. If selected for the course scholarship, the European Commission provides a subsidy of up to 25,000 Euros (approximately NT$910,000) per academic year.
To support Taiwanese youth in realizing their dreams of studying in European countries, the Ministry of Education sponsors the "New Erasmus Program" and provides EU scholarships. Previously, the application qualification was limited to those who had obtained waitlisted status for EMJM Scholarships. However, in recent years, universities participating in the program have not been required to set up a waitlist. Starting in the 115th year, those who have obtained "self-funded student" status are also eligible to apply for the selection.
According to the Ministry of Education's statistics up to the 114th year, 135 students have already realized their dreams of studying in Europe through the EU scholarship. Relevant information can be found on the "Ministry of Education 115th Year EU Scholarship Selection" application website.
