The United States and Iran have begun negotiations on restarting oil transport in the Strait of Hormuz to restore Persian Gulf crude shipments, but reports on the matter have been contradictory. European major stock markets showed mixed results today, and international oil prices trended lower. The London FTSE 100 index rose 13.62 points, or 0.13%, to close at 10,505.01. The Frankfurt DAX index fell 7.09 points, or 0.03%, to close at 25,177.80. The Paris CAC 40 index rose 34.78 points, or 0.43%, to close at 8,207.89.
