A man who admitted to participating in a plot to murder Iranian-American journalist Masih Alinejad has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. Jonathan Loadholt, 37, was arrested in November 2024 and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to stalk and money laundering. Alinejad, 49, is known for her criticism of the Tehran regime. Loadholt and another man, Carlisle Rivera, were accused of accepting $100,000 to kill Alinejad. Rivera was sentenced to 15 years in January. The US Department of Justice stated the plot was directed by the Iranian government.
